GREAT LINFORD PRIMARY SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER NO. 5 May 2006
‘MORGAN DAY’
A huge thank you to everyone who supported ‘Morgan Day’ by
wearing red and bringing in a donation. We have been overwhelmed
by your support and good wishes. Morgan’s family would also like
to thank everyone who has contributed to making today a very
special day indeed. So far we have raised almost £1200, both
from school and from groups within the local community. Money is
still being received and we will let you know the final total
and how it has helped Morgan.
MULTI SKILLS SPORTS CLUB
We still have a few places at our Friday morning club for
children in Years 3 & 4. Places are free of charge as we have
received external funding and the club starts at 7.45am. If your
child is interested, more details are available from the school
office.
WEBSITE
Our new website is up and running although some areas are
still under construction. Please have a look at our new school
brochure on
www.greatlinfordschool.org.uk
SCHOOL UNIFORM
If you need new items of uniform for the new school year in
September, please ensure that you hand in your order together
with payment by Friday 8th June.
COLLECTIONS
Thank you for your continued support in donating vouchers.
Please search your cupboards for any Tesco Computer vouchers and
bring them into school to add to our total. The promotion has
now finished and we would like to place our order for new
equipment.
SUN SAFETY
As summer approaches please ensure that children use
suitable sun protection and bring in a hat for playtimes. Please
remember that children should not wear strappy tops and that
their shoulders should be covered to protect them from the sun.
WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK
Thank you for supporting ‘Walk on Wednesdays’ and ‘Walk to
School Week’. The children enjoyed meeting Ranger Mouse from Eco
Park, the Mayor and other officials who launched the initiative
on Monday morning. To improve congestion and therefore
children’s safety we would encourage parents to use the local
centre and ‘park and stride’ to school!
