NEWSLETTER No 1 SEPTEMBER 2008
WELCOME BACK
Welcome back to school, especially to all our new
children and their families. This year Jo Cahill and Perminder
Ramewal have joined our teaching staff and we have expanded our
team of Teaching Assistants to include; Melissa Davies, Helen
Baker, Kathryn Ager, Sue Titchmarsh, Roz Thompson and Fauzia
Bartlett. In addition Hayley Coleman will support Roz with
reprographics and Mandy Sutherland and Coral Turner have joined
our lunchtime staff.
FRIENDS AGM - our school needs you
The Friends of GLPS will be holding their AGM on Thursday
18th September at 7.00pm at school. Last year the Friends raised
an amazing amount of money which went towards developing the
school garden and additional design technology resources such as
construction sets. Please come along to find out more, it is a
great opportunity to become more involved in the life of our
school.
SCHOOL DRESS CODE
Thank you so much for your support, children have returned
to school looking very smart and ready to work! Please contact
the school office if you would like to order items of school
uniform, as the next order will be placed on Friday 10th October
or check our school brochure on our website
www.greatlinfordschool.org.uk if you are unsure of our dress
code. Please note that ‘hoodies’ and earrings are not suitable
for PE and Games as they present a Health & Safety issue.
Please ensure that all items of clothing are named as the lost
property box in the entrance hall is almost full already! Items
not claimed at the end of each month are donated to charity.
GOVERNORS’ QUESTIONNAIRE
Thank you for returning your completed questionnaire sheets
enclosed with your child’s end of year report. We are in the
process of collating them and will share the results with you
shortly.
PARENTS EVENINGS
Parent consultation evenings will be
taking place in October. You will have an opportunity to look
through your child’s work and meet with their class teacher for
a ten minute appointment. You will shortly receive an invitation
letter on which we ask you to indicate your preferred day and
time period. These evenings will take place on Wednesday 15th
from 3.45 to 6.15pm and on Thursday 16th from 4.30 to 7pm .
